Our bar is well stocked with local ales, ciders, a variety of gins, spirits, and other drinks - including non-aocholic beer and wine - for you to enjoy.
The bar is naturally divided into three distinct areas:
Our main bar area looks out over the quay and is full of character with exposed beams, a big open fire place and ornamented with old jugs and pots.
The snug bar at the rear of the building, where our regualars like to gather, has a real flame gas fire and ancient tabaco stained ceiling which enhances the cozy atmosphere.
A separate room off the main bar has a gas fire and is perfect for families to enjoy.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in all our bar areas.
Food is available through out the whole building including our large separate Chartroom. The Chartroom has tables decorated with old charts mainly of the Essex coast. There is a large hearth with gas fire, exposed beams and brass ornaments. This area is the main dinning area of the inn and can seat up to 35 people in normal times. It has been adapted to take account of governement guidelines in the current covid crisis.
